Raintree Lane Farm House
Set within a nearly three-rai plot, this modest gabled wooden house was designed using permaculture principles and satellite elevation mapping to guide building placement, tree planting, and a low-lying retention pond. Built on a gentle slope for flood drainage and elevated views, the residence mimics two interconnected volumes stepping upward from a low-undercroft kitchen and living hall to a high-undercroft bedroom zone featuring a favorite ground-floor lounge, dining spot, hammock area, and tool workshop. Powered entirely by an off-grid solar energy system, the home eliminates overhead power lines to preserve unobstructed 360-degree views of the surrounding rice fields and western mountains.
