Teak Nest
This compact timber lodge was created as a trial residence for woodworking enthusiasts and an additional source of income, built entirely by hand without heavy machinery due to limited site access. Constructed using stored studio timber, the high-profile structure features traditional wood shingle (paen klet) roofing that extends down to serve as the building's exterior walls. Raised on stilts to withstand moisture from nearby rice paddies and enhance under-roof ventilation, the two-story building showcases hand-hewn textures, exposed timber wedges (lim), and structural frames raised sequentially from east to west according to local beliefs.
