Summer House
Built over two months as a hands-on learning project for architectural interns, this dedicated cat house was created for rescued campus cats. The structure utilizes offcut timber and short, thin wood offcuts from the Yangnar sawmill, dictating the wall stud spacing. Designed around an existing Kra-phi Chan tree (Millettia brandisiana), the house features an angled wall angled toward the eastern morning sun to provide gentle warmth and garden views for the cats. Concrete blocks along the southern elevation keep the interior cool and easy to maintain, while offsetting the wall leaves exposed wooden columns that double as natural scratching posts.
