Ing Suk House
The structure relies on fundamental construction techniques and raw, natural materials. Uncoated reclaimed timber is left to age naturally, while locally hand-split Pai Sang Mon bamboo forms door and window panels alongside reused wooden doors. Standard local materials—such as concrete blocks and roofing tiles—were chosen to minimize transport and future repair costs. Recycled steel from scrap yards was repurposed for structural roof posts, handrails, light fixtures, and bathroom drainage, complemented by second-hand furniture from Nong Ho Market. Additionally, a traditional log ladder, carved with an axe in the style of vernacular Lao and Vietnamese homes, steps down to the earthen courtyard anchored on river stones from the site's boundary stream.
