Nork Kok House
Rather than consolidating all living functions into a single structure, this rural residence distributes the main house, kitchen, garage, and cattle shed into a cluster of separate buildings. This deliberate layout creates landscape voids that optimize natural ventilation and host daily outdoor activities. Built with familiar gable and lean-to roof forms, the architecture utilizes salvaged timber—particularly rosewood (Mai Pradoo) with its distinct figure and color—left exposed to show its natural aging process. The kitchen is connected to the main house via a timber walkway flanked by vegetable beds and an outdoor hearth, dissolving the boundaries between living, cooking, and the natural environment.
